Steps To Configure Reliance WiFi :
- Remove the stock modem and connect any other wifi supprted modem. (I am using BSNL Nokia siemens 1600 router for this tutorial) as shown in the picture below.
- Open any browser and in the address bar type "192.168.1.1" and hit enter
to go to the configuration page of the modem. "192.168.1.1" is the
default address of most of the routers.A small window will open asking for "username" and "password". The default username and password for the modem is "admin" , so type "admin" in both the fields as shown below and hit enter.
- Now you will get the configuration page of modem.Click on "WAN" and remove all the preinstaled settings.
- Now Click on "Add" button to install the reliance settings in the modem.
- Enter the values in the text boxes as:
Port : 0
VPI : 0
VCI : 35
Service Category: Select "UBR without PCR"
and leave the " 'Quality of Service' and 'Enable VLAN Tagging' " checkboxes remains unchecked and then click "Next" as shown below.
- Now the "Connection type" window opens.Select the "MAC Encapsulation Routing (MER)" radio button. and select the Encapsulation mode to be as "LLC/SNAP- BRIDGING" and hit "Next".
- Now the WAN IP Configuration window will open.It is recommended to choose the IP, default gateway and, DNS Server to automatically obtain, as there are dynamic.Select the radio buttons as shown below.
- In the next page, Check all the Checkboxes in the window as shown below and then click "Next"
- A new window will open,showing the complete profile setup that has done as shown below. Just hit "Save" button.
- Now in the landing page click on "wireless" to setup the wifi with your broadband connection.Click on "Basic" and then check the checkboxes in front of "enable wireless" and "Clients isolation". Write any SSID (Service Set Identification) of your choice.SSID is nothing but the name of the wifi connection that will be broadcasted to your wifi enabled devices.
- Now the wifi connection has been setup successfully, I recommend you to use security key to access your wifi by one of the network authentication scheme available. This can be done by going to the "Security" option.
- Click on Reboot>>Save/Reboot. Now your modem will get rebooted, and the custom settings will take into effect just after the reboot.
